Description:
A Laurel pottery fragment with a variety of different decorative markings on the surface.

Laurel pottery from the late woodland period is characterized by it's use of stamped tool decoration. These markings generally occur on the exterior rim and neck of the vessels with the rest of the surface treatment being smooth. Laurel pottery has been found in a wide variety of colours, including various shades of yellow, tan, beige, orange, red and light grey.
